Making Online Poker Rooms More Attractive with TiltBuster

Many people complain about the lack of good themes available for popular online poker rooms like PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker.  For the most part, the themes they offer are either boring or not functional for today’s grinder.  A good mod is hard to find for basic elements of the table like card decks and the chips and many people think there’s nothing they can do but accept what the rooms offer or download whatever some donkey put together in MS Paint.  Suffer no more poker friends, as a site called TiltBuster.com has come along to assemble some of the best poker room mods ever seen.

TiltBuster.com sorts out different mods created within the “Mod Shop” by room and sub-categorizes everything by function: table themes, card mods, chip mods, lobby mods, and background packages.  Six different rooms are supported: PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Ultimate Bet, Party Poker, Absolute Poker, and the iPoker Network.

The mods themselves are usually small files, available for an inexpensive price, and always feature a very smooth installation process and impressive art design.  Typically, table themes range from $6 to $20 and card mods are similarly priced.  For the “total makeover,” you can buy a table theme, card mod, and chip mod for a site and pay around $25 for a customized experience.

Any level of computer user can accomplish installing one of the products from TiltBuster.com.  Once you’ve purchased the product you want, it will appear in the “Order Pickup” area.  From there, download it to your computer and double click the single executable file.  The file will open up an installation dialog box and the whole process is automatic.  Install time for most mods is about 15 to 20 seconds.

So what did we cook up for two of the most popular sites around?  Thanks to the team at TiltBuster.com, we were able to give both PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker a much-needed makeover with an emphasis on the following:

1. A straightforward and non-distracting table where a Heads-Up Display (HUD) can be laid out well on.
2. A deck of cards that was pleasing to the eye and had legible characters.

We picked table and deck themes for both sites with the added bonus of a chip theme for PokerStars.  How’d it come out?  Let’s examine both.

What you see here is a work of art instead of your traditional distracting and poorly designed online poker table.  The table theme is extremely simple, easy to look at, and has plenty of real estate for an HUD.  The deck of cards definitely hit the “sexy factor” in dramatic fashion, as they really bring out color distinction (yellow for spades instead of gray) and font style for the characters.  The Paulson Chip Set for PokerStars looks a lot better designed than the original chip set.  Unfortunately, the numbers are barely legible when they are small.  However, if you increase the size of the table, the chips become gorgeous and extremely legible, so if you’re the type that plays only two or four tables on your desktop, then you’ll love these chips.  It all seems like a real bargain for just $27.

Because Full Tilt Poker requires that a certain table theme be done four different ways, building a mod for this site take a lot more time and, therefore, costs more.  Many people find the frame area that holds the player’s name, chip stack, avatar, and timer to be terrible, but with this theme, the space is used much more intelligently.  This theme is perfect for multi-tablers who use an HUD and really hate to look at the gaudy themes that Full Tilt uses for backgrounds.  The deck is a work of art, with thick lettering that is extremely legible and vibrant colors used to differentiate the suits.  For $30, Full Tilt Poker has gone from generic room to a highly efficient artistic place to play poker.
